This workshop is an opportunity to collaborate with experienced teachers as you begin teaching the new VCE Applied Computing Study Design 2020-2023.

The day includes a morning session to focus on Units 1&2 Applied Computing, and an afternoon session to focus on Units 3&4 VCE Computing: Software Development. (See also VCE Workshop: Units 1&2 + Data Analytics.)

Topics covered during the day will include:

  • Planning to teach content and practice in 2020.
  • Approaching the four SACs in Unit 1 & 2, including discussing the innovative, collaborative project.
  • Assessing coding for Software Development Unit 3 Outcome 1.
  • Understanding assessment for the 2020 SAT (Unit 3 Outcome 2 and Unit 4 Outcome 1).
  • Discussing past exams and preparing students for end of year examinations.

With the new Study Design, VCE teachers should also be aware of official Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) professional learning during the month of February 2020, including face-to-face and webinar formats. See the November 2019 VCAA Bulletin for details.
