This webinar explores activities and technologies suitable for the Secondary Maths classroom, bringing in expertise and knowledge from the Mathematical Association of Victoria (MAV).
In this workshop, MAV together with DLTV will showcase a selection of mathematics activities with digital applications. This will include some maths apps, and freely available software with mathematical applications.
Discussion will focus on algorithmic thinking.
An additional 10-15 minutes after 4:45pm allows for input from attendees and Question and Answer time.

About the presenters
Danijela Draskovic (MAV) is a secondary Mathematics Education Consultant for the Mathematical Association of Victoria. Danijela has taught mathematics in Independent Schools in Victoria as well as in the UK. She believes that most people can engage and have success in mathematics by approaching the subject in a holistic and meaningful way. Danijela is passionate about exploring the affordances of technology in enhancing teaching and learning by modelling concepts in visual and dynamic ways. She is also an accredited trainer for Texas Instruments.
Helen Haralambous (MAV) is a secondary Mathematics Education consultant for the Mathematical Association of Victoria. Helen has extensive teaching experience in secondary schools. This includes 32 years teaching secondary school mathematics, in 4 different schools (Boys school, girls school Coeducational and multi campus settings). She has held leadership positions including mathematics faculty coordinator and Leading teacher positions in Numeracy, Curriculum, Student Management and Professional Development. She has worked as an education consultant at the ABS and has co-authored Year 7–10 mathematics textbooks.
Nathan Alison (DLTV) taught Digital Technologies, VCE Computing and Software Development in Victoria for 11 years before beginning work for DLTV. He brings a background in Computer Systems Engineering and years of hobby coding, as well as a keen desire to help teachers with more complex Computer Science concepts through clear explanations and relevant activities.
