Digital Technologies and ICT are now requirements in all subjects. In this workshop Catherine Newington From the Australian Computing Society and Sam Kingsley from The Brainary will show you practical examples of how to incorporate the Digital Technologies Curriculum and ICT across multiple areas of your school curriculum.
Catherine will showcase samples of ideas and lesson ideas taken from a series she has done for DLTV, ‘DigiTech and ICT Across The Curriculum’. With Sam’s robotics expertise, he will demonstrate how hardware and software can be used in classrooms and used across learning areas.
All participants will receive a USB with worthwhile resources and have post workshop access to contact Catherine and Sam for further support after the event.

About the presenters
The Brainary is a supplier of education technology in Australia and New Zealand. Sam’s role focuses on the implementation of the Brainary’s robotics within Australian classrooms.
Catherine Newington is the ICT Educator Specialist at Australian Computing Society. She leads the ACS national program to support schools to implement the Digital Technologies Curriculum. Working with schools she creates resources that target the curriculum and support content knowledge growth. Lessons promote skills such as authentic learning, global connections, critical and creative thinking, collaboration and student driven learning. These resources are available for free via the ACS ICT Educators Community of Practice.
Catherine is a registered teacher with over 12 years’ experience in the classroom including 5 years as learning and teaching leader. She holds a postgraduate degree specialising in Education Technologies. This has tightened her knowledge of how pedagogical practices influence the potential of technology in education.
