Outstanding Educator of the Year Award

The DLTV Educator of the Year award is to recognise the importance of the work of Victorian teachers who have made an outstanding contribution, using technology, to the educational advancement of their students and have had a significant positive effect on their colleagues, both at school level and within professional associations.

Recognition

The winner of the DLTV Educator of the Year award will receive:

  • An award presented at the next DLTV state conference, DigiCon.

  • Individual membership to DLTV for one year

  • Recognition on the DLTV website

  • Nomination as Victoria's nominee for the ACCE Educator of the Year


Eligibility

This award focuses on recognising the efforts of classroom based educators. Nominees must be based in a school and considered a member of the teaching staff of that school.

Applicants must be either an individual member of DLTV or a staff member of a DLTV member school or learning institution.

Submission Process

Nomination should be supplied to the Chair of the selection committee (at office@dltv.vic.edu.au) by 31st May. Submissions for awards should be restricted to six pages only (or equivalent) of printable information with the exception of supporting evidence in other media.

Application should include:

  • Cover Letter

  • Nomination Statement (including reference to criteria)

  • Letters of Recommendation (minimum of two)


Criteria for Selection

The nominee:

  • Leads improvement, innovation and change in the area of digital learning and teaching both internal and external to their own institution.

  • Engages and works with the community and professional organisations in the area of digital learning and teaching.

  • Develops self and others in order to improve the quality of education.

  • Has made a positive impact on technology use in education; locally, regionally, statewide, nationally and/or worldwide.

  • Has contributed to the profession by presenting a professional conferences, seminars and/or workshops or publishing articles in print or through electronic media.

  • Reflects the vision of DLTV in their work and will represent DLTV well in all forums.
